Description

The long internal floor is built for one thing: keeping big offshore fish whole and cold, all the way back to the ramp.

Long Format. Split Lid. Built for Offshore.

The 160L is what serious fishos reach for when the catch has to come home right.

The long internal floor (1125mm) keeps Spanish mackerel, jewfish and heavy pelagics laid flat and whole. No bending, no folding, no damage to the flesh you've spent the day working for. When you've put in the hours offshore, the last thing you want is to compromise the fish at the end of it.

The split lid is practical on deck. Open one side to drop a fish in, the other half stays closed. Temperature holds. Heat gain stays low. You keep fishing.

Why It Works

  • Split lid access
Open half, seal the other. Drop a fish in without letting the day's cold out. The central split is fitted with a rubber seal to stop heat creeping in at the join.
  • 80mm lid insulation
The lid is where heat gain hits hardest on a long offshore day. 80mm of pressure-injected foam there, 40–45mm in the walls and base. Ice life that holds up in Australian conditions.
  • Rotomould build
One seamless polyethylene shell. No joints to crack under load, no seams to fail on a rough run offshore. UV-stabilised and built to take the vibration of a long offshore trip without complaint.
  • Four heavy-duty hinges
Injection-moulded, full-length lid support with a 90-degree stop. No internal ropes to snag on fins, lures, or tackle when you're working quickly on deck.
  • Dual drain bungs
Drain fish slurry and meltwater without tilting a full box. Pull both bungs and it runs clean.
  • 5-Year warranty
ICEY TEK backs the build. All hard coolers carry a 5-year warranty against manufacturing defects for recreational use. If something's wrong with the box, we fix it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between Left Lift First and Right Lift First?
It refers to which half of the split lid opens first when you lift it. Most people set the box up so that half opens toward a clear area of the deck — usually away from the gunwale. If you're not sure, Left Lift First suits most standard boat layouts. Email us before you order if you want to talk it through.

How long will ice last?
That depends on ambient temperature, how often you open the box, and whether you pre-chill it before loading. In typical Australian coastal conditions — say 28–32°C — expect 3 to 4 days with quality block ice if you're disciplined with the lid. Loose bag ice won't go as long. Pre-chilling the box overnight before a trip makes a real difference.

What size fish fit in the 160L?
The internal floor runs 1125mm. That handles most Spanish mackerel, jewfish to around a metre, and a solid bag of reef fish laid flat. For fish over 130cm, look at the 260L.

How heavy is it when fully loaded?
The box is 22kg empty. Load it with ice and fish and you're looking at 60–80kg depending on the catch. Two people to move it when it's full — that's not a design flaw, that's a full box.

Will it hold up on a rough offshore run?
Rotomoulded polyethylene doesn't crack, doesn't leak from joints, and doesn't care about vibration. The hinges stop at 90 degrees so the lid won't bounce back on you mid-run. It's built for the offshore grind.

What if it arrives damaged or has a fault?
If the box arrives with a manufacturing fault or transit damage, we cover return freight and sort out a replacement. Email support@iceytek.com.au with your order number and a few photos. We don't drag it out.

What's covered under the 5-year warranty?
Manufacturing defects on all hard coolers for recreational use. If something is structurally wrong with the box, we replace it or refund it. Normal wear and tear, accidental damage, and permanent outdoor storage aren't covered. Full details at iceytek.com.au/pages/returns-policy.
